# What is the assistant?

> The emaqi assistant is a chat companion that suggests titles that match your taste. Learn what it can do and how to use it.

The **assistant** is an emaqi feature that chats with you and suggests titles that match your taste. Talk to it whenever you're not sure what to read next.

## What the assistant can do

* **Find titles like the ones you've read**: Tell the assistant about a title you enjoyed, and it suggests titles with a similar mood or genre
* **Match your mood**: Just say what you're in the mood for, like something funny to read
* **Search by genre or theme**: Name a genre or theme you like, and the assistant suggests titles that fit
* **Answer questions about emaqi**: Ask how things work in the app, from your account to coins and subscriptions

## How to use the assistant

    Tap **Home** in the bottom menu. The assistant icon appears only on the Home screen.

    Tap the icon in the lower right of the screen to open the chat.

  <Step title="Start a conversation">
    Tap one of the suggestions above the input field, or type your own question and send it. Recommended titles appear as cards. For titles you can read, tap **Read** to start reading right away.
