What are coins?
Coins are digital currency used to read stories on emaqi. With coins, you can purchase and read chapters or volumes.Coins aren’t the only way to read. emaqi premium is a monthly subscription that gives you unlimited access to the premium area of eligible titles, with no coins needed for that content.
Types of coins and how to use them
Types of coins
There are three types of coins:- Paid Coins (No Expiration)
- Coins purchased with money
- No expiration date
- Free Coins (No Expiration)
- Bonus coins received when purchasing coins
- No expiration date
- Free Coins (With Expiration)
- Coins received from campaigns and promotions
- Must be used by the expiration date shown when received
Coin consumption order
When using coins, they are automatically consumed in the following order:- Free coins with expiration dates (starting with those expiring soonest)
- Free coins (no expiration)
- Paid coins (no expiration)
How to purchase coins
Purchasing coins from My Page

Open My Page
Tap the profile icon in the upper right of the Home/Library screen.

Open the Coin shop
Tap the “Coin shop” button from My Page.

Select a coin package
Select the coin package you want to purchase.

Complete the payment
Complete the payment process.

Receive your coins
Coins will be added to your account.
Purchasing coins from a title’s page

Attempt to purchase a manga
Go to the manga details page and attempt to purchase a manga.

Open the coin purchase modal
When you’re short on coins, a coin purchase modal will appear.

Select a coin package
Select the coin package you want to purchase.

Complete the payment
Complete the payment process.

Receive your coins
Coins will be added to your account.

Basic coin usage
Reading manga with coins
- Go to a chapter or volume that requires coins.
- Tap the button showing the coin amount.
- Confirm that you want to use your coins.
- The manga is purchased, and you can start reading.
Managing coins
Checking coin history
- Check your purchase history: Go to “My Page” → “Coin shop” → “Purchase History”.
- Check your coin balance: Your current coin balance is shown on My Page.
FAQ
- Q: Do coins have an expiration date?
- A: Paid coins and free coins (no expiration) do not have an expiration date. Free coins (with expiration) must be used by the expiration date shown when received.
- Q: Can I use coins on other platforms?
- A: Coins can only be used in the app from the App Store or Google Play. They cannot be used on the emaqi website.
- Q: Can I cancel a manga purchase?
- A: In general, a purchase can’t be canceled once it’s made. Please review the manga carefully before you buy.
- Q: Can I cancel a coin purchase?
- A: In general, coin purchases can’t be canceled. Please check the number of coins carefully before you buy.
- Q: Can I download manga to read offline?
- A: Currently, manga cannot be read offline. (This feature is planned for future updates)
- Q: Is there a way to read without buying coins?
- A: Yes. With emaqi premium, you can read the premium area of eligible titles without spending coins. Some chapters in the coin purchase area can also be unlocked for free with Unlock with Ads.
