How are the ratings determined?

We at Orange developed the following rating system to give parents, consumers, and manga fans the information they need to choose manga titles and judge whether a title is suitable for younger readers. Please use this rating system to help you pick titles. Ratings are based on the level and frequency of graphic and thematic content within a series. We evaluate a range of factors, including violence, nudity, sexual content, profanity, and references to alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. Sensitive themes such as bullying, abuse, self-harm, and terrorism are also taken into account. Please note, however, that these ratings reflect our own assessments and are intended only as general guidance.
